Network Analysis Service Offerings

Network Assessment

The Network Assessment is the first step in determining network capabilities, current performance, and identifies network vulnerabilities, fault tolerance issues, and anomalies that restrict optimum network performance

Network Baselining, Trending, & Capacity Planning

Proactively identifying capacity requirements is paramount to providing acceptable network service levels to your customers.  Our Capacity Planning & Modeling services assist organizations with transforming new application and location rollout plans into infrastructure impact requirements.

Network Impact Analysis (ANR)

Document the impact of a new application, technology change or enhancement including application demographics, capacity, performance and security requirements.  This information can then be used to implement or maintain security firewalls, Quality of Service policies, and evaluate performance requirements against existing network capacity.  The Impact Analysis profile can be used to predict service levels for your customers.  When used in conjunction with our Capacity Planning & Modeling services, Network Impact Analysis can be a very powerful tool for intelligent network planning and risk mitigation.

Network Problem Determination & Resolution

The Network Engineering team at The Blue Group is comprised of highly educated engineers with several years experience in problem determination and resolution of network related issues.  A logical approach is taken to determine the root cause, beginning with Layer 1 of the OSI model and working up to Layer 7 until the problem is identified.  The Blue Group will then make problem resolution recommendations based on the root cause analysis taking into consideration resource availability, cost constraints and urgency to rectify the issue.

Performance Optimization and Network Design:

Blue Group Consulting provides a Performance Optimization offering that allows the customer’s network to achieve it’s maximum potential. The first step in optimizing a network is to review the current level of performance established in the Network Assessment and the base line metrics. We review the current network diagrams, samples of the router/switch/hub configurations, and the network monitoring log files along with helpdesk call logs to determine where the most problems are occurring. After careful analysis of all the information gathered, Blue Group Consulting prepares a performance optimization report that outlines any tuning parameters and network modifications that will allow the network environment to operate at its full potential. The following steps are performed as part of this offering:

· Summarize the Health of the Existing Network

· Compare it against the Blue Group Network Health Check list

· Prepare recommendations

If the customer’s network does not pass some portion of the Network Health Checklist, Blue Group suggests network design changes to improve the problem areas. A new network design can be provided to the customer demonstrating how discovered inefficiencies could be eliminated.

Implementation Services:

With a solid network design that satisfies the customer and Blue Group network designers, the Project Integration and Management Service (PIMS) can begin. This service offering requires that various elements of a project be properly coordinated. Each project is assigned a project manger who coordinates all elements in the implementation phase to reach the desired objectives. The tasks relevant to achieving specific objectives are assigned to team members identified in our methodology document.
