Network Assessment Services
Situation: Is your network running at peak performance? Are users complaining of slow response times and are you uncertain where the problems reside? Do you know what to do in the midst of a catastrophe? Where are your network vulnerabilities? How good are your fail-over capabilities? Is your network affecting the companys capability or effectiveness to develop, produce, and track products? What is your LAN and WAN utilization?
Blue Group Solution: The Network Assessment is the first step in determining network capabilities, current performance, and identifies network vulnerabilities, fault tolerance issues, and anomalies that restrict optimum network performance. The Network Assessment is an integral part of our other service offerings, which commences with Business Requirement Study (BRS). This session typically lasts three to two days and interviews are conducted with customers key employees. It has the following subcomponents: · Characterize the Customer's Applications· Characterize the Customers Network Protocols· Document the Customer's Current Network Topology and Addressing Plan· Identify Business Constraints and Inputs into the Network Design· Characterize the Existing Network Availability· Characterize the Existing Network Reliability· Characterize the Existing Network Management Systems and Tools· Review the Customers Disaster Recovery PlanAs a part of the Network Assessment process, Blue Group measures selected performance metrics on critical network segments in order to create a network base line. Base lining is a process that provides statistics on the current operational parameters of a network. During the base lining process, key network segments are analyzed using traffic sampling tools. Reports are combined from the network assessment and the base-lining phases, and are compared against business standard acceptable performance metrics. The variances between the acceptable metrics and current network performance levels become the focus of the optimization process. To accomplish this, Blue Group establishes acceptable performance metrics for the applications and network segments being reviewed. Monitoring tools are then deployed on selected segments that track the following performance statistics: · Characterize Network Traffic· Characterize Network Utilization· Characterize the Status of the Major Routers and Switches· Identify Potential Bottlenecks
